Title: To all Apple displays By: lund
On: Fri., Dec. 15, 2006, 05:19 AM (Rating: Average)
If you have an Mac display please let me know if the colors in the title bar are the same. On every PC display it looks fine. The lite green in the logo looks the same as the green on the left hand side. When I looked on 2 different Apple displays they look like 2 different greens. So please if you have a mac display let me know if you get the same results. Thanx. Lund.

On: Fri., Dec. 1, 2006, 01:50 AM (Rating: Average)
Hi all- I've been making changes to the site design/color scheme. As I go through this, if you want to add constructive criticism or suggestions add them here. Obviously the goal is to make this site able to support multiple skins but this is your chance to add your input on the default skins. This will be one and the previous one with the white backgrounds will be another. Even if you have a favorite site that you think has design qualities you'd like to see in LT let us know. We'll take all suggestions and do our best to make a kick a$$ site. Thank you everyone.

My wife says every time she hears "Bat Out of Hell" she remembers cleaning the house with her mom as she blasted this album on the old turntable. I bought this album not so much because of this story but mostly because of an essay by Chuck Klosterman (Sex, Drugs, and Coco Puffs), but now when I hear this album that's all I can think about. Meat Loaf is one of the most important lyricists of all time. Every note, every word hits home. So much in fact that it tugs at the very essence of nostalgia.

You obviously haven't ready Frank Millers "The Dark Night Returns". Wow, this is getting nerdy. Anyway I agree. Superman is lame.

Happy Halloween. Gorgons, and Hydras, and Chimaeras--dire stories of Celaeno and the Harpies--may reproduce themselves in the brain of superstition--but they were there before. They are transcripts, types--the archetypes are in us, and eternal. How else should the recital of that which we know in a waking sense to be false come to affect us at all? Is it that we naturally conceive terror from such objects, considered in their capacity of being able to inflict upon us bodily injury? O, least of all! These terrors are of older standing. They date beyond body--or without the body, they would have been the same...That the kind of fear here treated is purely spiritual-that it is strong in proportion as it is objectless on earth, that it predominates in the period of our sinless infancy--are difficulties the solution of which might afford some probable insight into our ante-mundane condition, and a peep at least into the shadowland of pre-existence. -Charles Lamb: Witches and Other Night-Fears.

Hi Nick, thanks for using Lyric Talk. One of the features of this site is that you can add artists and songs on your own. So if you ever see an artist not in the listings you can add it by selecting "Add and Artist" located in the left navigation bar.

The "Name That Tune" thread is getting long. Would it be beneficial to give the forums multi-page functionality for longer threads?

I mostly use Firefox. I have a Mac so Microsoft hasn't released a release for my computer since version 5. I have been displeased with IE so far so if this version is awesome let me know. I still use it at work so I’d like to upgrade if it’s worth it.
Title: too catchy? By: lund
On: Sun., Oct. 22, 2006, 08:57 PM (Rating: Average)
I love this song and I know, I know it's played too much and when you turn on your radio it's all you hear. At least that's what I've been told. I have only heard it once on the radio but I don't listen to the radio often. I've tried to share this song with people but I think everyone's heard it, and even gotten sick of it. But I think it's awesome still. I heard it for the first time last spring and throughout this year I keep coming back to it. I like this song for two reasons. One, because it is so damn catchy and when I listen to it I can't stop (usually until I've heard it at least twice). It's a drug for my ears (Stupid Ears). And two, because the lyrics are honestly great. It's hard to write a song that encompasses life and doesn't come off completely cheesy. I think everyone's felt crazy, known someone you thought was completely off their rocker and even looked up to those that have inspired you to be crazy. Some of the song's ability to really make you feel the lyrics is in the delivery too. When those vocals come blasting across the stereo and the vocalist asks "Does that make me Crazy" for the first time it tugs at you and demands you pay attention. It feels like a heart felt cry and yet it’s so amazing to hear. You feel empathetic and at the same time mellow and soothed. It’s a drug for the ears. I love this song, but hey, maybe I'm crazy.

You Rock
I love this song. It was because of this song that I fist listened to Leonard Cohen. Though the first time I heard this song it was covered by Rufus Wainwright (which is beautifully done) I still love the original.
...I was going to describe what a colossal poet and songwriter he is but I think the best thing to do is just check out his work for yourself.
