I've often wondered if Emilie Autumn was raped, maybe molested as a child. There are a lot of references in her songs to such things, I Want My Innocence Back for example. And this.
Title: The Lady Of...    By: Jaize

In case this isn't obvious, this song is about the poem the lady of shalott by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Go, shoo, go read it.

Its about a woman cursed to sit at a spinning wheel and weave a constant web of beautiful colours, from things she sees at the magical mirror infront of her, people passing by on the way to camelot. But no one knows she's there, except the workers in the fields who sing her song and call her a faerie.

she couldn't even see a sunrise or people first hand, and she missed out on everything she wanted...

She sees lancelot and falls in love, wanting to leave she steps away from the window and the mirror cracks and the weave floats away and she falls into despair. She climbs into a boat and sets off down the river on which her island was placed, and ends up freezing to death before she ever sees camelot or the sunrise, and with her dying breaths sings a song to the loyal knight she wishes she had.

now shoo, go read.

Judit Marie was maynard's mother... once you know that, and know that she died recently, this song and the song Judith by A Perfect Circle take on whole new meanings. Given how rare it is that maynard writes a song about something close to him, and bares himself open in a lyrical sense and the amazing melodies and lyrical content of this song, its easily my favorite on the album.

Actually, the lyrics state nothing of a relationship intending to be a growth experiance between two people, just that her purpose isn't to fix him, that she can't do that. That's why I think you're slightly wrong in your original statement, and no, your original comment of "I don't want you to NEED me...I want you to WANT me" though now clarified reads as though its a statement about what a relationship should entail. And I still disagree with that. She's not saying that she doesn't want to fix him, but that she can't. "You see it's too much to ask for and I am not the doctor
" Your original statement was somewhat ambigous and because of the line infront of it read as though you thought the song was about what a relationship should be.

I disagree that "one must be healthy enough by him/herself in order to create a healthy partnership" because of the line:"I don't want to be a bandage if the wound is not mine" She's saying that even if he is damaged he has to heal himself, not use her or a relationship to do that, just as she only wants to have to bandage herself.

I don't agree with the song itself to be honest, growing in a relationship sometimes means healing old wounds and broken hearts, that's half its inteded point.

I don't think its so much that the song implies that men don't have to be broken, more that if they are its not the purpose of a relationship to fix them; she's not the doctor.

And if he is broken its not her responcibility to fix him; she's not his mother. Her purpose in a relationship isn't to mend him, but to be in the relationship. She wants to be loved for what she is not what she represents to him, and doesn't want to bandage unless the wound is hers... 1 and 1 make 2...

I think you're nearly there JC22, but that its not so much about the fact that two people should grow together, more that a relationship/her purpose isn't to fix a broken heart.

I love this song, but I can't decide what its about. Either someone who's other than their partner thought they could be, or someone who's really something that their partner doesn't believe they could be.

I don't change just to suit your vision

Because you cannot stand to believe I'm not
The perfect girl you thought
Well what have I got to lose

pewpew she'd make a great president. But hey, its not just your political media that's getting more and more brutal. Seems the political parties think that they have to patronise and demoralise their oponants to the public, at least, its the impression given over here that the government seems to think the public can't understand debate and reason, we need slander!

sad world :*(

That leads me to think that Iraq was more about oil than the government will ever let on, but our handling of North Korea right now worries me.

To me iraq was about passifying zionist circles in the american and british governments, oil and the genuine humanitarian fact that he kept slaughtering people. And despite it sounding very anti-semite, which I'm not, its hard to deny how much israel gained from iraq being wiped out.

I have no idea, infact, I have never heard a killers song, and after half an hour trolling through lyrics on this site I gave up and branded this game the most stupidest thing ever. Here's an example of why:

lyrics:"You're enthralled with material gain, your earthly enhabitance is passed pointlessly upon not loving and remembering past opertunities taken or untaken and tat which you wish wasn't so."

go figure. Either use titles or give us some clue on bands that aren't popular. Honestly, I don't even socialise with people who listen to the killers. How am Imeant to guess? would you like it if I posted a bit of a KMFDM lyric?

well, since I don't have a television or a radio and have spent the past week with my head burried in a book on plato I got to tell you, I've no idea what bush has said about te NK nuclear test, just that it happened and my opionion on why all these people wanting action against them are selfrighteous hipcroties without a leg to stand on.

My opinion? Well, assasination has worked in the past. The truth is that there really is very little that can be done.

um the NNPT only holds powers over the signatories, since NK pulled out in 2003 AND YOU GUYS STILL GAVE THEM LIGHT WATER REACTORS after the 6 nations talks welll, who's stupid? bush or kim jong iil?

That's besides the point, you guys were stupid to ratify talkks with a nation twice who has alaywas ignored treatys in the past. That doesn't give you a righht unless said treaties stipulate that pulling out of the treaties is a concionable act to war.

You may be able to protect japan, but please tell me... if a kid is scared of a dog do you go and stab the dog in the head repeatedly with a screwdriver? Japan ebing scared of NK? don't see why the missiles are all aimed at the US. but here's the thing, NK has not aggressed japan or china or south korea.

The only way in is via a UN security council resolution.

Legally, the US doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Morally the US should have acted years ago when the administration found out that jong ill was comitting genocide, but they held that information back from the UN.

so tell me please whatr makes you think the rest of the world will look at you and think you're the heros when you and the UN failed time after time after time knowing the repression and genocide the north korean people were facing. THere are estimates of upto 3 million people dying and what? the US gives the man light water reacters to power his electric nipple clamps, bravo.

PLEASE anth for the love of god admit that military action on the basis of nuclear weapons is for the US' own interests and ego and has nothing to do with legality or "the right thing to do" because I know where I can find 3 million people to tell you what the right thing to do was and when you should have done it.

Ehhhhh I posted last night, thin I forgot to press submit *giggles*

NK pulled out of the NNPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act) in '93 at the behest of YOUR government. The fact they have nuclear weapons is a concern, but I don;'t think the US has a legal right to act against north korea, except on the basis that they did break a UN treaty that they signed and ratified in 1996, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT)Now it strikes me as a strange notion that NOW NK are testing nuclear weapons the US knows all about their arms, drugs and other indiscretions, where as they knew *nothing* because of kim's tight control on information in and out of his country, and they knew not a single thing when the UN and south korea and japan called for action against north korea when they were supposedly genociding half the country.

My personal opinion is that during the gulf war kim became increasingly paranoid, the US attacking rogue nation states sorta does that to a communist dictator. It was in 91 when he started his uranium enrichment programme. 93 when he left the NNPT. I think that this evidence points to, and the nuclear testing points to, kim defending himself against the only super power he thinks would have the balls to attack him.

I believe he doesn't understand the idea that the US *can't* and *won't* attack him for at least 10 years yet. and his biggest threat comes from the UN, against whom he can't protect himself.

Was it aimed at france?

Well, to be honest I'm glad they're testing their nuclear arsenal. if they manage to get a taepodong that works this time I'd feel a lot safer having a madman in control of a missile that works as aposed to a mad man in control of a missile that may fail and hit a target not intended to be hit.

Excuse me if I sound mean, but I don't live in america;) *waves at you all over there*

I don't like, nor believe in the idea of nuclear proliferation. But I live in a country that does have high tech high end biological, chemical and (probably even) nuclear capabilities should it choose, so I can barely talk.

Which is just... shameful. Bill Hicks was one of the most insightful, intellegent and funniest commedians of our time, taken before his full affect on the world was seen.

Even though he battled through censorship and obscurity for most of his career, he is still one of the most influential commedians in our day, even though he died in 1994.

oh, yeah, and the song is cool too >>
